About Me
I’m Alexandra Sumner, founder of Sumner Privacy Law. I’m a privacy, technology, and healthtech attorney who has spent my career working closely with founders, product teams, security teams, and business leaders on the legal and privacy questions that come with building and growing a company.

Before starting my firm, I worked in-house in legal, privacy, and security leadership roles, including as corporate counsel and a chief privacy officer. That experience shaped how I practice today: practical, collaborative, and focused on helping teams understand the real risk, make a decision, and keep moving.

My practice includes fractional legal and privacy support, commercial contracts, HIPAA and health data, privacy compliance, AI governance, product counseling, incident response, and diligence. I also write regularly on privacy, healthtech, and emerging technology issues, with work published in outlets including Bloomberg Law and other legal and industry publications. Writing is a big part of how I stay engaged with fast-moving regulatory developments and translate complex issues into practical guidance.
